A little bit about me: She/Her. Married to an incredible partner and grateful to live in the beautiful state of Oregon. I’m an introvert and a deep feeler of everyone’s feelings and energy – which for me translates to caring about creating spaces that aspire to be welcoming and inclusive. I’m always looking to challenge my understanding of myself, of yoga, and the world we live in and to grow my awareness of how my words and actions impact others. I’m Type A to the core (working on letting go sometimes), analytical and generally consider myself to be a bit of nerd. Piano player. Book worm. Seeker of international travel. Chaser of sunsets. Craft beer admirer. Hiker. Stand Up Paddleboarder. Proud owner of Shanti the Shiba. All-around lover of life. And for my “job” – I get to teach yoga.
I have been teaching since 2010 and primarily teach a flowing, vinyasa style. I received my 200 hour YogaWorks certification in 2011 and my 500 hour certification from YoYoYogi in 2016. I am also working on 500 hour trainings with Yoga Medicine and Annie Carpenter and have certifications with Strala and Street Yoga. My teachings are primarily influenced by Kathryn Budig, Annie Carpenter, Tiffany Cruikshank and Tara Stiles – but I find influence from each and every teacher I have had the opportunity to practice with.
My classes are anatomically informed and soulfully inspired and reflect what I’ve found to be empowering from the time I’ve spent on my own mat in practice. I aspire to infuse my passion for the practice, my love of music and genuine, life-inspired musings into each class. As an analytical human, I enjoy an alignment-based approach to asana, but believe that the alignment of postures should be something that is learned from the inside out, not from written rules. I strive to invite freedom of exploration, observation, and inquiry into each class that I teach, so that over time you learn what your authentic alignment is, on your mat, and off. My style creates a space for yogis to be challenged and to grow their practice, but also to find ease, confidence, laughter, yogi friends and bliss.
I teach primarily in the Salem, Oregon area with studio classes at Resonance Yoga Collective. In addition, I am the founder of Yoga + Beer and host regular events and retreats at local breweries and wineries around the state and offer international yoga retreats around the globe.
I look forward to getting to know you!
Cheers & Namaste.
